Upcycled & warm! Yes, yes, I really do hand stitch these 2 shirts together, all through the cuffs and the collar and the lining. I have embroidered onto my custom label that this is the 35th shirt I've made, #35 in the 'series', made in 2011. And the key' is 'DS', which means 'Denim Snap.'

And 10 years or so later, I'm looking at the tight stitching I did on this, about 14 stitches an inch? I was in the groove! Maybe a personal best! A lot of history to this shirt, look closely at all that piecing. I first made this denim shirt for myself, and now it's for you! I’ll make more! But this is a one of a kind, singular, warm, upcycled shirt!

Why do this doubled shirt thing? Because I’m a skinny-ish guy brought up in both the chilly midwestern tundra and the fog of the Bay Area, for years I’ve been lining my pants and stitching two shirts together - to make one - for warmth.

I can’t help it, I’m a maker and necessity was the mother of this invention.

In the video, you'll see that this shirt fits a little tight on me. I wear approximately a mens size medium, a Mens 40R sport coat, so for me, I would say this particular shirt is on the skinny side, especially in the forearms, that is, for a guy,  For you ladies, how a mens large translates to women’s sizes is a bit more difficult, but you know that better then I do!

My best google search tells me that a this might translate to a women’s size 6. If you think of it as a ‘boyfriend shirt’ and roll up the sleeves, I promise that the stitching around the cuffs will be nice to look at!

I’m proud of my work. The attention to detail/stitches per inch may look OCD, but I just want to do the best job I can.

Care: I put this shirt through the washer and dryer normally, it actually helps the shirts settle in together to do it this way. But if you want to hand wash and line dry, that might be better now that the 2 shirts are synced together.

You can be confident that this one-of-a-kind wearable artpiece has been made with care, by me and just me, giving new life to discarded clothes. You aren’t going to run into anyone with the same shirt, that is for sure!!
